On September 11th the Monmouth Park Charity Fund held their 3rd Annual Golf Invitational including a reception honoring Carol Stillwell, Bill Arnold and Frank Vozos , raising 130,000 in funds to support local charities.
Held at the beautifully renovated Suneagles Golf Club the morning opened to a 9-11 memorial ceremony where Dakota Diehl passionately performed the National Anthem followed by a moment of silence. We were honored to host a team of Military hero’s to join us for the day.
On the course golfers were treated to many course upgrades, a Yard Bar and an abundance of refreshments thanks to Shorepoint Distributing and Circus Foodtown. Course contests included a Hole In One Car sponsored by Larson Ford and the new Ball Launcher game sponsored by Petrik. After a fantastic round of golf everyone enjoyed a delicious Lunch & Awards Reception where Carol Stillwell, President and CEO of Stillwell-Hansen Inc received the Ambassador of Goodwill award for her untiring commitment to supporting so many of our local charities and always giving back to the community. Also honored were Bill Arnold, RWJ Barnabas Health Executive VP, President Southern Region, CEO of RWJ University Hospital for his leadership in high-level care, research and education in health care, Frank Vozos, past President & CEO of Monmouth Medical Southern Campus and Executive VP of RWJ Barnabas Health for dedicating his career to caring for the health of our community. Also part of the afternoon was an amazing Silent and Live Auction, cigar roller, and the Ice Cream Truck!
Closing the ceremony was the announcement of our 2023 Winners Circle Society Awardee and a check for $21,750 was presented to Tom Donovan, Executive Director of the Asbury Park Music Foundation. Members of the WCS selected APMF from sixteen (16) applicant local charities to support their expanding their Music Saved My Life, program into Red Bank in partnership with Red Bank Charter School and Red Bank Boys & Girls Club. WCS Members, through the collective power of combined donations, influence creative and transformational funding pathways to meet the changing needs of Monmouth County Residents.
Through the hard work of an amazing golf committee and the support of our sponsors and participants $130,000 was raised to provide critically needed grants to local charities. Funds raised advance the seventy-six year legacy and mission of Monmouth Park Charity Fund to raise and distribute funds to non-profit agencies providing residents of Monmouth County services for healthcare, those at risk in the community and those in need of special services. Our organization was incorporated as a 501(C)(3) non-profit in 1947 and since then has distributed over $10 million in strategically vetted grants to nonprofit health and human service organizations.
